Ask DFT:passports for Disney cruise

Q: Do you need to have a passport to travel on a Disney cruise?

A: If you are traveling on a closed looped itinerary (one that leaves and returns to the same US port) you are not required to have a passport to travel. You will have to bring proof of US/American citizenship in order to board which can include a valid government issued ID like a driver’s license plus an original copy of your birth certificate. Travelers 15 years and younger are not required to have a government issued ID only the original birth certificate.

While its not required to sail it may be a good idea to have one in case there was an emergency, and you need to come back to the States you will need a passport to return back into the US via plane.
