The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is one of the more iconic rides at Disney World and is even considered the park icon for Hollywood Studios since the MGM water tower and Mickeys sorcerer hat were removed.

The attraction is set in a 1930’s Hollywood style hotel that has since been abandoned, the queue takes you through lobby and into the hotel library where you watch the preshow.

Since this is the Twilight Zones tower of terror of course there is a tie-in to the old television show. Host Rod Sterling tells guest the story of the Hollywood Tower hotel and what happened to several guest one stormy evening inside one of the hotel elevators.

Once the preshow has ended the remainder of the queue is in the broiler room of the hotel, it has a bit of creepy ominous vibe. There line does split into 2 and both give the same experience so choose whichever line is shortest.

Once you get to the elevator a cast member will assign you a seat and everyone has a seatbelt. The ride then starts by going up to another floor and the elevator car moves to the front of the building where it gets locked into the elevator shaft. This is where the fun happens, your ride will randomly have a series of lifts and drops and then you exit through the hotel gift shop. This ride is best for older kids and adults. I have taken all my girls on this as soon as they were tall enough and none of them enjoyed it until they were in their tweens/teens.
