Universal has decided to close 2 of its resorts beginning Monday August 21st. The Adventura hotel which is a prime value resort and the Sapphire Falls preferred resort. While Universal has not given official word as to why they are closing it sounds like lack of reservations at these specific locations were the main reason. The park has also temporarily closed several rides due to a decrease in daily attendance. The decision not to hold the popular Halloween Horror Nights is no doubt part of the reason behind the lack of reservations. No date has been given for the reopening but based on cancellation emails sent to guests, we should expect them to be closed through end of 2020.
