Teppan Edo is one of two table service restaurants located on the 2nd floor in the Japan pavilion. The other is Tokyo Dining and is more of the standard sit down restaurant. Teppan Edo is a Japanese hibachi where they cook the food right in front of you.
The meal starts with either a salad in a ginger vinaigrette or miso soup.
Most big city’s have this style restaurant so you are probably familiar with this style of cooking. There are 8 seats around the table so you could be dining with other families. The chef cooks all the food right in front of you and there is usually a hidden Mickey thrown in for fun.
The adults got chicken and shrimp, each entree comes with noodle and vegetables all cooked together on the grill as well as a bowl of white rice. If you have allergies make sure to let them know as soon as possible. The kids got shrimp for their entree.
The meal also comes with 2 different sauces for dipping. The first is a ginger soy sauce the other is named yum yum sauce or shrimp sauce. Both are worth a try, you won’t be disappointed,
For dessert we share the Green tea and Mango mousse cakes. I admit we were all a bit skeptical about the green tea but it was really yummy. Both cakes were made of a light sponge cake, the mango was just a bit sweeter.
We have eaten here 4 to 5 times now and every meal is so good. Our first visit I was hesitant to eat a restaurant we could easily have back home but Disney just has a way of making it special. This is always a hit with our kids (and the grown ups) because who doesn’t love dinner and a show?
