While planning a Disney World vacation you may have heard that Epcot is not kid friendly. Our family loves Epcot, even before they redid Norway with all the Frozen themed ride and characters. One of the features we enjoy is the World Showcase. Here you will find 11 pavilions representing  different countries. As my kids became school aged there was so much they can learn from the World Showcase pavilions. One of the great way to explore each one is by traveling to each of the 11 countries Kidcot station or fun stop.

Each of the Kidcot fun stops is staffed by representatives of that country. Originally kids would pick up a character they could color and the back you would collect a stamp from each country and some of the non-English countries would write the kids names in their native language. My kids really enjoyed seeing their names written in another language especially Moroccan. They will also help the kids learn a few words in another language; usually hello and goodbye.

In previous years they had Duffy the bear or Perry the platypus that the kids could color and then each country would stamp the back and draw a picture or that countries flag. As of 2018 Ziploc became the new sponsor and it’s not as much fun for the smaller kids.

At your first stop kids can pick up their special Ziploc bag that looks like a suite case. Then at each Kidcot station you will get a sticker for that country and a card with facts about the country and a picture to color on the opposite side. While the new method is probably more educational I don’t feel like my kids enjoyed it as much. With the old method they interacted with the Kidcot station workers more and now they are just handed a card and these bags were forgotten about before our trip was even over.

If you are visiting Epcot with kids be sure to check out the Kidcot stations, these are especially great if you pulled kids out of school for your Disney vacation. My girls teachers are always so impressed with what they learn from our World Showcase visit.
