Did you know there is a show inside the giant tree of life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? The show is called It’s tough to be a bug and features Flick the ant from the Bugs life movie. The queue to get to the theater takes you past many of the wood carved animals on the tree of life. My kids like to find as many as possible while we walk through.
This show is currently the only indoor show at AK and makes a great break to get away from the Florida heat or rain. The show itself is not very long, about 10 minutes which is short compared to other Disney shows. This is a 3-D show that require special glasses to see the screen.
The show itself has interactive elements including being squirted with water and the seats give the feeling of being stung and bug crawling under you. This show can be a bit scary for little kids because it gets dark. There are no real bugs in the show, most are show on the theater screen but there are few animatronics like Flick and Hopper shown above.
