Have you heard of the 4 parks 1 day challenge? This is where you visit all 4 of Disney Worlds main theme parks on the same day! The most we have ever done as a family is 3 parks in a day because it takes up too much time traveling from park to park and kids slow you down. But I took a short solo trip in February and ended up visiting all 4 parks.
It was not something that I had planned on doing but my original flight down ended up getting delayed by over 5 hours and by the time I got to the hotel I had lost almost a whole Disney day so I had to do as much as I could the next day.
My Day started with rope dropping the Magic Kingdom. Was able to ride Peter Pan, Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh and Journey of the Little Mermaid. Took some pictures in front of the castle and headed over to Animal Kingdom for my FastPass at Pandora.
Animal Kingdoms newest land Pandora was busy, luckily I had a FastPass for the Na’vi River Journey because the standby wait was 150 minutes! Just as my fastpass time window had opened the ride broke down, so the cast members suggested that people check back in about half an hour. I decided maybe I could grab a quick lunch but ended up riding Expedition Everest twice (through the single rider line) instead. After Everest I headed back to Avatar land and the ride was back up and only waited about 5 minutes to ride.
After Visiting Pandora I still hadn’t eaten lunch but we’ve already had the most of the quick service food at Animal Kingdom so I ventured out to Port Orleans French Quarter. The French Quarter offers a food court called Sassagoula floatworks and features cajun and creole food. I opted for the shrimp Po’ Boy and it did not disappoint. It was a big sandwich, probably could have been enough for 2 people because I could not finish it.
After lunch I hoped the bus over to Hollywood Studios. The Imperial march was beginning right as I went through the gate. I had some time to waste before my fastpasses for Rockin’ Roller coaster and Tower of Terror so I stopped into One Mans Dream and got to meet Groot and the Star Lord. They also have displays of the new Toy Storyland and Star Wars land. I made my way to Rockin’ Roller coaster but the fastpass line was not moving so I cancelled it and moved my Tower of Terror to the current time and took a trip to the Twilight Zone (get it?).
With all the construction going on there isn’t a lot to do at Studios these days so left the park and took a relaxing friendship boat ride over to Epcot. The Festival of the Arts was happening during my trip, so I made my way around World Showcase to see all the different art work for sale and food booths.
I tried some drinks from around the world at Club Cool and rode Journey into the imagination with Figment just before the park closed. It was evening Extra Magic hours at Magic Kingdom so I took the monorail back to where I had started my crazy day.
I got back to Magic Kingdom just as the Happily Ever After fireworks were starting and got to ride Splash Mountain just before it closed for the night. I rode a few more rides before I decided it was time to go back to the hotel. I grabbed dinner in the food court on the way back to the room. My feet were so tired from all the walking. This is definitely not something I would try with the kids in tow as it would make a long day for all involved. But it was a fun day and I am glad I can say I did the 4 park challenge!
