Our trips to Disney World usually end with a box/bag full of items that I can’t decide whether to throw away or keep. There are guide maps, festival books, room keys, magic bands and more.
We wanted to keep our magic bands and I was looking for a way to display them and I thought a shadow box would be just the thing. It was hard to find one deep enough to display them properly so I decided to use other items we had collected through out the trip to make them a little nicer.
For a few years Disney was sending out this Mickey Mouse picture with the year and a thank you for visiting. It made for a nice centerpiece. For the others I used the times guide for the week of our trip. I tried to incorporated things we did during our trip in each box. Here are just few of the items I have used to make ours:
- Fastpass tickets
- celebration buttons
- Photopass cards
- Food and wine festival passports
- Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom cards
- Times guides
- Agent P’s World Showcase adventure items
- Kidcot station location cards
- Magic bands
There are so many ways to make these unique. You could make one for each child in your family or one for an individual trip like those shown above. I hope these have given your the inspiration to make your own souvenir display box!
