As hurricane Irma heads towards Florida the theme parks and Orlando international airport have been making closure announcements. Here are a few of the latest.

MCO:Orlando International airport

At 5pm on Saturday September 9th the airport will be closing. Many flights have already been canceled. There is no word as to when they will reopen.

Universal Studios

As of 11am Friday Universal announced they will be closing the parks as of 7pm Saturday, they are set to reopen normal operating hours on Tuesday. They have also canceled Saturday nights Rock the universe. For guest who have a ticket to Saturdays show are able to attend the Friday night show instead. They have also canceled the Sunday early morning worship service.

Sea World Orlando

As of Friday they announced the park will close at 5pm Saturday and remain closed until Monday.

 

Disney World

Blizzard beach will be closed Friday September 8th and Saturday 9th.

Night of Joy for September 9th has been canceled.

The Not so scary Halloween party for Sunday September 10th has been canceled

The Fort Wilderness campgrounds and resort a set to close down on Saturday September 9th at 2pm. Along with this Mickeys Back yard BBQ and the Hoop-Dee-Do musical review shows on 9/9-9/11 have been canceled.

Over at the Polynesian the Spirit of Aloha show has been canceled for Saturday the 9th.

The hot air balloon at Disney Springs will be closed through September 13th.

Several events at the Food and Wine festival have been canceled. Including the Mix it, Make it, Celebrate it on Monday and Tuesday.

If you remember last year with Hurricane Matthew, Disney did end of closing the parks so there is a good chance that will happen again. I will update the list as more information or closures come in.

***Update*** Disney World will be closing the parks Saturday evening along with Disney Springs through Monday. The ESPN world of sports will be closed Saturday until Monday. The resorts will still be in operation and transportation from Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom will run until 8pm Saturday and 10pm for Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
